LIVING WITH ETERNITY IN MIND

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:2-4

The Apostle Paul’s words remind us to focus on what lasts forever, not just the things of this world. It’s easy to get distracted by worries, responsibilities, and even all the good things that keep us busy. But Jesus tells us to make seeking His kingdom our number one priority (Matthew 6:33).
Living with eternity in mind means asking, “Is what I’m doing bringing me closer to God? Am I spending my time on things that matter forever?” Instead of storing up treasures on earth, we should be storing up treasure in heaven by following Jesus and loving others well. Our words, choices, and priorities should show that we are looking forward to Christ’s return.
1 John 3:2-3 says that when Christ appears, we will be like Him. This means we should live in a way that prepares us for that day. It’s not about fear — it’s about living with purpose. If we need to turn from sin, we shouldn’t wait. If we need to forgive someone, we should do it now. If someone needs to hear about Jesus, we should share God’s love and truth with them today. Every moment is a chance to grow in faith and show Jesus to the world.
There will be a day when all those who reject Christ will face judgment. But for those who belong to Him, eternity is secure. So be ready. Focus on what matters most. Keep your heart set on things above, because your real life is in Christ, and nothing on earth can compare to the joy of being with Him forever.
