Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1
Faith is not about trying to get God to give you something. It is about believing and receiving what He says is already yours. For example, salvation, healing, peace, and provision are all gifts God has already made available through Christ. Faith reaches out and takes hold of them.
In the Old Testament, God promised the land of Canaan to the Israelites. But only Joshua and Caleb believed they could take it. When the rest of the people were paralyzed by fear, Joshua and Caleb declared, “If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us” (Numbers 14:8). They did not need to convince God to give them the land—He already said it was theirs. They just needed faith to receive it.
Likewise, God has given us “exceedingly great and precious promises” (2 Peter 1:4), but it takes faith to enter into them. Doubt brings delays and disappointment, but faith receives.
Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24). Notice He didn’t say “believe that God will give them,” but “believe that you receive them.” Faith sees the promise as already done, even before the proof shows up.
Like Joshua and Caleb, refuse to be moved by circumstances. Walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). If God says something is yours, then it is yours. Agree with Him, speak His Word, and take steps forward—even when others do not.
You do not have to let doubt or fear keep you from what God has already provided. Stand firm in faith and take possession!
