Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church. – Ephesians 3:20-21
God’s power is not distant—it is alive and active, working in and through us. As we walk in the authority Christ has given, we need to remember that our battle is not with people, but against spiritual forces of darkness. (Ephesians 6:12). The words we speak can either give the enemy room to work or release God’s purposes. Jesus reminded us of this when He said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you” (John 20:21). His mission has not changed. It is our mission now.
This authority is not just for our own victory—it is for advancing His kingdom. In Mark 16:17–18, Jesus declared that signs would follow those who believe: casting out demons, healing the sick, and walking in His power. These signs were not only for the early church; they are meant to be the normal lifestyle of every person who knows their authority in Christ.
The book of Acts shows us what happens when ordinary people lived faith-filled lives. They prayed bold prayers, spoke the truth with courage, and demonstrated the authority of Jesus’ name. Cities were transformed—not by their own ability or strength, but by God’s power working through them.
As a believer, you are called to do the same. “We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us” (2 Corinthians 5:20). You can—and should—bring God’s kingdom wherever you go. Today, step out and demonstrate the authority you have been given!
