Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. –John 14:27
In Hebrews 12:26-28, we read how there will come a time when everything that can be shakn will be shaken – except for the kingdom of God. If you have received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you belong to that unshakeable kingdom. While others may worry and fear the future, you can find encouragement and strength in God to remain at peace no matter what is going on.
Consider David’s experience in 1 Samuel 30, where after a battle, he returned home to find his town destroyed and his family taken captive. Despite great anguish and potential mutiny from his own men, David found strength in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6).
Similarly, Isaiah 60:1-2 reminds us to rise and shine even in times of darkness, for it is then that the glory of the Lord will be seen upon us. This is a call for us as believers to stand out as beacons of hope and faith.
These examples show us that our response should be different from the world’s, even in the midst of turmoil. Instead of being in turmoil or reacting in fear, we can hold onto Jesus’ words in John 14:27, knowing that our peace comes from Him and remains steadfast.
Remember, God’s promises are sure; He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). As a believer, you can live by faith, not by sight. So in times of difficulty and uncertainty, seek the Lord, draw strength from Him, and shine as a light to the world around you.
With Him, you are unshakeable!
