TWO ADAMS AND REDEMPTION

And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. – 1 Corinthians 15:45

God created Adam and Eve and placed them in a beautiful garden called Eden. He gave them authority but also gave them the ability to choose. Everything was wonderful until the serpent (also known as the devil) tempted them to do the one thing God told them not to do. When they ate from the forbidden tree, they gave away their God-given authority. Actually, the devil’s plan all along was to seize their authority, and in doing so, he became the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Our all-seeing and all-knowing God already had a plan for redemption. Genesis 3:15 speaks of the future coming of a Savior, the Seed of the woman, who would crush the serpent’s head. This promise was fulfilled in Jesus! Romans 5:12 recounts how sin entered the world through one man, Adam, bringing death and its consequences. Yet, through Jesus, the last Adam, the gift of righteousness and eternal life became available to all.

In His sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus completely reversed the effects of sin and reclaimed everything the first Adam lost. That is why the cross is the ultimate symbol of God’s love and redemption. Jesus, sinless and blameless, bore the penalty for our sins. His sacrifice reconciled us to God, offering forgiveness and salvation to all who accept Him.

In Jesus, you find not only forgiveness but also restoration, identity and empowerment. You do not have to be defined by past mistakes but by the righteousness granted to us through Christ. As Romans 4:25 says, “He was delivered up for our offenses and raised for our justification.” This means your sins are fully paid for, and you are made righteous before God.

This week and always, walk confidently in your redemption, knowing that in Christ, you are more than a conqueror!
