The Bridge

‘The time has come,’ He said. ‘The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!’
Mark 1:15

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth. He created man and woman in His image, and He gave Adam dominion over all the Earth. God also lived in an intimate relationship with His creation, where the natural and the supernatural were not separated. Humanity physically knew, saw, and walked with God in the Garden.

Yet when Adam and Eve ate of the fruit that He had instructed them not to eat, they gave their authority and dominion over to the Devil. They were cast out of the Garden, and became separated from God through their sin. A rift divided the “physical” and “spiritual” from that day forward; and the war between God and the Devil continues to this day.

What we need to know is that there is more to creation than what we can physically see at this very moment. There is the physical that we can see, feel, smell, hear, and taste. Yet, there is also the spiritual that includes our souls, God, angels, and demons. What we need to know is that the Devil is real, and that he comes only to steal, kill, and destroy all that God loves: us.

There is good news! Jesus came to take back the dominion that we lost. He came to take our sin upon Himself, and to restore our relationship with God. He became the bridge between the natural and supernatural.

There will be a day that He returns again, and brings with Him a new heaven and new earth. Creation will be married together once again, and He will reign and rule over it all!

This week, in our struggles, temptations, and pain, let’s ask for God to reveal the supernatural battle waging around us. Let’s further ask for Him to come into our lives and break into whatever situation we face, and bring His supernatural peace.
