Redemption is Near
Duane Vander Klok
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:3-4
About 28% of the Bible is prophecy and the majority of those prophecies speak of the end times. This can be a scary or concerning topic for a lot of people, but these prophecies are meant to bring comfort and joy to believers. Think of the promises He has made: He will wipe every tear away, He will destroy death, sorrow, pain, sickness, disease, and every form of evil. Our redemption is near!
But we have a job to do as these times approach. We were not made to only be saved and wait for the end; God was not just trying to get you into heaven, He is trying to get heaven into you! Our purpose on earth is to love God and love people.
So take care not to think of the end times as a ticking timer that you watch anxiously. Instead, grow in your love for God and His people. Share the gospel, reach out to the lost, take care of the needy, and, above all, seek God with all your heart.
Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.
