The Greatest Gift

Duane Vander Klok

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8-10

Did you know that Christianity is the only religion in the world with a Savior? Other religions require that you try to earn your salvation, afterlife, or love, but the one true God offers His love to you freely! Unlike these religions that require man to reach out to God, Christianity began by God reaching out to humanity.

There is nothing you can do to earn God’s love, and His love for you does not grow or diminish based on your performance. When you ask Jesus into your life, you are saved by grace through faith. And we know that grace enables you to receive what you do not deserve – forgiveness and a right relationship with your Heavenly Father! Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, you have the opportunity to know and receive the goodness of God in your life.

Maybe you have never known the love of God, but would like to begin a relationship with Him. Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. You can invite Him into your life by “confessing” the following prayer and believing in your heart.

“God, I believe Jesus died on the cross, I believe His blood paid for my sins, and I believe He rose again. I give Him all of my heart and all of my life. I hold nothing back, and as You help me, I will live for Jesus every day. I receive the forgiveness Jesus purchased for me. I thank you my past is gone, that I am your child, a part of your family today and forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
