Your Helper

Duane Vander Klok

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 14:26

When Jesus ascended into heaven after He rose from the dead, He told His disciples and followers that the Father would send the Holy Spirit to them as a helper. These new believers would need guidance as they began to walk in faith!

The Holy Spirit was sent not only to help the first believers, but He is available to you today! He was sent to be a comforter, counselor, and helper. When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, He comes to live on the inside of you and renews your heart and mind.

The Holy Spirit is a gift, and not something you can earn. What normally happens when you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Well, you receive your prayer language, and there is a deeper compassion for the lost, a readiness to serve, a hunger to pursue God, and power to share the gospel.

When you pray in the spirit, you are praying directly to God and according to His will because the Holy Spirit is moving you and showing you what to pray. What a great way to align your prayers with His heart! It also builds you up and strengthens your spirit through that direct connection and fellowship with the Father.

If you want to experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you can pray this prayer and ask Him to come live on the inside of you:
Heavenly Father,
You say that the Holy Spirit is a good gift and that everyone who asks for the Holy Spirit receives. I ask to be baptized in the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name. Thank you for filling me, for empowering me to be a witness, and for giving me the gift of tongues. Now I will pray with my understanding and with my spirit. I believe and receive right now!
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
