Unashamed of the Gospel
Duane Vander Klok
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” – Romans 1:16
The gospel isn’t just a message—it is the power of God in motion. The salvation we share is an unlimited source of power for healing, deliverance, and authority available to every believer. The gospel of the kingdom isn’t a philosophy or some religious theory; it is God’s supernatural power operating through those who believe and act on it.
Jesus came to reveal what it looks like when God’s will is done on earth as it is in heaven. When He began His earthly ministry, He declared, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15) In other words, the kingdom is here now, and it is available.
Everywhere Jesus went, the kingdom showed up—people were healed, captives were set free, and the brokenhearted were made whole. In John 20:21, He told His disciples, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” It was their assignment then, and it is our assignment now. We are called to believe the gospel, live it, preach it, and enforce it, expecting God to confirm His Word with signs following.
The Apostle Paul wasn’t ashamed of the gospel because he believed that the gospel is the power of God. Not human effort. Not how much you pray, fast, or worship—but the message of what Jesus accomplished through His resurrection. That message releases God’s power wherever it is believed and activated.
The gospel hasn’t lost its power—it is still changing lives. So don’t hold back. When you are unashamed of the gospel, His unstoppable power flows. Believe it, live it, declare it, and let kingdom power flow through you whenever and wherever it is needed!
