Two Adams
Duane Vander Klok
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Hebrews 1:1-4
Throughout history, there have been two representatives of mankind: the first Adam lived and met with God in the garden of Eden, but the second was Jesus who came to offer redemption for you! The first Adam invited sin, death, pain, and fear into the world, but the last Adam, Jesus, brought re-connection with the Heavenly Father. Through His life and sacrifice, you are able to live in the fullness that God has for you!
Jesus came to pay the debt for your sins, and when you accept Him, the slate is wiped clean. Think of it this way: as your debt was laid on the cross, His righteousness was transferred to you. We often judge ourselves based on our behavior or performance, but that is not how God sees you. As a child of God, He sees your value and how much He loves you. Know that you are highly favored in His sight!
When you are no longer focused on your performance, you can start walking in that fullness that God has for you! You no longer need to hide from the devil and the pain and fear that he brings. Through His death and resurrection, you are more than a conqueror!
