Resilient Faith
Duane Vander Klok
“Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Mark 11:22-24
When you are healed, you have won a victory. And when you die, you have won a victory – you are on your way to heaven! You see, when a believer dies, you are not going to death, but only passing through on your way to an eternity with your Heavenly Father. But we know that the Bible also says that God has promised healing and fullness even while you are here on earth. It is easy to become discouraged when you do not see how God is moving in your life, but when you start to live and walk in faith, you will see God move mountains!
Your faith may be as small as a mustard seed, but what moves God is the persistence of your faith. The life of a believer is a fight from your first breath to your last, so do not throw away what you know to be true because of what you do not understand. Faith starts in your heart before it moves in your life.
Build your faith by asking God to show you the revelation and victory that He has already given you. You do not need to ask God for something additional – Jesus already paid for your victory on the cross! Matthew 8:16-17 says, And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”
Healing is a part of the gospel that Jesus died for and offers to you. As you continue to pray for healing in your life and the lives of others, you will see some people receive healing right away, some receive it later, and some may not receive what you prayed for. But do not throw away the truth of the gospel even when you may not see how God is working. Run the race with persistent faith!
