One Way

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 14:6

Do you know that feeling when you have been chasing something, you finally catch it, achieve it, or conquer it, but it doesn’t quite fulfill you as you thought it would? It is probably safe to say that we have all experienced this feeling of “almost but not quite.” And it is easy to find ourselves continuing to run down the same path, further and further, still thinking that there may be some satisfaction when we reach the end. But the Bible tells us otherwise.

Jesus says that He is the way and all other paths will fail. You can try and try to conquer life with success, money, good works, or approval. You can even try to earn the love of God. But even if you do everything right but do not include Jesus, there will be nothing waiting for you at the end of that path. Jesus is the only way to eternity with the Father, but He is also the only way to an abundant and purposeful life on earth.

Now that we know that Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life, how do we follow His way? God revealed His will to us through His Word. He has even told us: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened (Matthew 7:7-8). When we ask for guidance, He is faithful to answer. His way is revealed through His Word.
