Grow Your Faith
Duane Vander Klok
But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
Luke 2:19-20
After the miraculous birth of Jesus, Mary remembered and treasured those special events in her mind and heart. She kept them in front of her eyes and thoughts and meditated on what God had done. Like Mary, we need to keep God’s good works in our minds and hearts. Romans 10:17 tells us, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. As we keep God’s works and Word in front of us, our faith begins to rise and we expect to see God move more and more in our lives!
Revelation 19:10 says, …For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. This verse shows us that what Jesus has done in the past, He can do again! The healing, blessing, and hope that He has given to someone else can be yours as well! Testimonies are a picture of who God is and what He wants to do again. And as we hear and see God move, it creates an expectation of faith in our hearts for Him to move again.
Not only should we keep His wonders and Word in our hearts, but we need to share them with others as well! Mary showed us how to treasure and meditate, and the shepherds exemplified how to share God’s goodness with those around us.
Stop and think: what has God done in your life recently?
