Father Power
Duane Vander Klok
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:33-34
Have you ever noticed that when you pray often for something, sometimes God will start speaking to you about how you can be the answer to that prayer? You may be praying for peace and hope for your children, and God may show you how to speak hope and bring peace to your children. The greatest gift that you can ever bring them is to share your faith with them and help them build their relationship with God.
When you teach your children to “seek first the Kingdom of God,” you are modeling godly priorities and showing them how to honor God above all else. The rest of the world will push them toward worldly desires, but you can show them the narrow path that leads to Him. Remember this: your compromises will become your children’s norms. When you compromise and choose golf or the beach over worshiping at church on a Sunday, you are teaching your children something you don’t want them to learn. There is no safer place for your children than in the will of God. As you are teaching them to seek Him first, there is no more need for worries, anxieties, and nerves. God cares for, watches over, and guides those who follow Him!
Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Your words, blessings, and prayers over your children make an enormous impact in their lives! Ask God what you can be praying and speaking over your children that will bless today and in their futures.
