Faith in the Blood

Duane Vander Klok

“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” – John 1:29

The blood of Jesus is at the heart of our faith. Throughout Scripture, we see its power—not just as a symbol, but as the very means of our salvation and victory. Through His blood, we are redeemed, cleansed, and made right with God. Without faith in His blood, we miss the fullness of what Christ has done.

When Adam and Eve sinned, they covered themselves with fig leaves, but God provided a better covering through the shedding of blood (Genesis 3:21). Abel’s lamb pleased God (Genesis 4:4), and under the Law, Israel’s atonement came through spotless sacrifices. The amazing thing about this is that the priest didn’t inspect the sinner—only the offering. If the lamb was acceptable, its blood covered their sins.
Jesus, the Lamb of God, became the perfect sacrifice. “Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption” (Hebrews 9:12). Unlike Old Testament sacrifices, His was final. When He died, the temple veil tore, opening the way to God.

Faith in His blood does more than save—it frees us from guilt and shame. “How much more shall the blood of Christ… cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14). His blood silences the enemy, strengthens our identity in Christ, and empowers us to walk in victory (Revelation 12:11).

Because of Jesus’ blood, you can come before God with confidence (Hebrews 4:16), knowing you are forgiven, redeemed, and fully equipped to live for Him. Put your faith in the blood today!
