But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6
Our God is moved by the faith of His people. Some may believe that God is moved by need or by good works, but we know that without faith it is impossible to please Him. Faith connects you to Him and allows you to receive the blessing that He wants to give you. So how do you become faith-filled? Romans 10:17 tells us, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. By filling your thoughts, heart, and mouth with the Word of God, your faith and understanding will grow. And the spirit of faith is more caught than taught – when the Word gets down on the inside of your heart, you will begin to speak it.
Imagine His Word as a seed planted by a farmer. After the seed is sown, it needs to be watered and nurtured in order to grow. And the only way to water this seed is by hearing, reading, and meditating on the Word of God. Dig deep into the Word by asking the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. As you sow that seed into your heart, you will see how it changes what comes out of your mouth.
Your words have power, and when you speak in faith, you are fighting for the Kingdom of God. Proverbs 18:21 says, Life and death are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. Take care to control what comes out of your mouth because words can either create life or bring death – and the enemy loves to use your words against you. Even though the enemy may bring destruction from our words, we can defeat him the same way. Revelation 12:11 says, We overcome him by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. You cannot overcome the devil without words. So speak out in faith!
