Authority Lifestyle
Duane Vander Klok
“Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you.”– Luke 10:19
Living with authority is more than having an occasional burst of faith — it is a daily lifestyle rooted in who you are in Christ. Jesus didn’t just promise His followers protection; He empowered them to fulfill their purpose. When He said, “I give you authority,” He gave them the power to stand firm against darkness and to advance the Kingdom of God on earth.
That same authority was first given to Adam and Eve but was fully restored through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Now it belongs to every believer. You have been commissioned, just as the early disciples were, to carry Heaven’s influence into every part of your world.
Authority is not about control — it is about partnership with God. We submit to Him and resist the enemy, just as James 4:7 teaches. We speak His Word with confidence, not merely hoping He will act, but as ambassadors carrying out His will. As you declare His truth in faith, you are enforcing the victory Jesus has already won.
Walking in authority is daily placing confidence in what God has promised. It’s living from a place where faith overcomes fear, peace overwhelms chaos, and the name of Jesus reigns over every circumstance. If you are ready for this, here is a prayer and declaration for you:
Father, thank You for the authority You have given me through Jesus Christ. I choose to daily live boldly in that truth. I submit to You, resist the enemy, and I declare that no weapon formed against me will prosper. I walk in victory, peace, and power through the name of Jesus. My words carry life, my steps advance Your Kingdom, and I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me!
