A Loving Savior

Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
Luke 1:30-33
From the very beginning, God told us exactly what would be accomplished through the life and resurrection of Jesus. He came to earth, fully man and fully God, in order to restore our connection with the Father and establish His Kingdom that would last for eternity! But why did He have to come as a man?
Hebrews 2:14 says, Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil… In order to overcome sin and the devil, Jesus faced every temptation that you have faced in your life. He is not a savior that cannot understand your pain, fear, and temptation, but He is the Savior who will lead you through it.
We know that Jesus had to come in a flesh and blood body in order to pay for our sins and redeem us, so remember that you can only accept this gift while in your flesh and blood body – after death, there is no opportunity to change your decision. So celebrate the birth, life, death, and resurrection of your loving Savior by inviting Him into every area of your life. He is not a far-off being that does not understand or care about your daily mountains and valleys; instead, He wants to be there to comfort, guide, and rejoice with you each step of the way!
