Matthew 28:18-19

As a believer, you have the authority to not only resist the temptations of the devil, but bind his schemes, and thwart his plans! It can be difficult to remember your authority when the whole world seems to come against you, but as you learn who you are in Christ you will know how to wield that sword of the Spirit and shield of faith in the face of the enemy!

In order to see the victory of God in your life, you first have to understand what He has given to you. If someone deposited one million dollars into your bank account, but you didn’t know how to access it, that money does you no good! You need to understand how to operate in the authority that God has given you.

So how can you begin walking in the authority that Jesus has given to you? First, renew your mind with the Word of God. Begin confessing who you are in Christ based on His Word so that the truth is planted deep inside of you. You cannot initiate the truth if you do not know what it is.

Philemon 1:6 says, that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. You energize your faith, or stir it up by confessing and speaking out who you are in Christ. As you acknowledge who you are and what belongs to you in Christ, that truth gets planted on the inside of you and you begin to see yourself, the world, and the enemy very differently. You don’t see just a sinner anymore, a sea of pain and heartache, or a big devil that can crush you with his little finger. That truth in God’s Word will tell you that you are more than a conqueror, that the world is waiting to hear the gospel from you, and that the enemy has no authority over you. Jesus won the authority on the cross, and He is sending you!
