Qualified and Called
Duane Vander Klok
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:14
As a believer you need to know what was purchased for you on the cross with the spotless blood of Jesus. Every person has a spirit that will live eternally, and the blood of Jesus offers the only way to redeem your spirit and spend eternity with your Heavenly Father. The blood of Jesus does more than forgive and bring mercy for your past, it also has grace for your present and every need that you face. The blood purges your conscience so that you are no longer weighed down by sin and regret, but set free to serve God and build His Kingdom.
Praise God that you are free from sin and regret! You are no longer identified with your failures, but instead your identity and value is based on His sacrifice. 1 Corinthians 5:21 says, For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. At the cross, God took all of your unrighteousness and put it on Jesus. In exchange, you were given the righteousness of Jesus. When God looks at you, He does not see your sin, shame, or guilt, He sees righteousness!
The blood of Jesus does offer eternity with God, but salvation does not begin when you die. It begins the moment you accept Him into your heart – you are instantly taken out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of the Son of His love. God does not only want to get you into heaven, he wants to get heaven into you here on earth.
God wants to work in and through you while you are here on earth. All believers are called to further the Kingdom of God, but many get stuck feeling unqualified. Remember that you are called because you are qualified by the blood of Jesus! The enemy will always point out your sin and failures, but God calls out the righteousness, gifts, and talents that He has put in the inside of you!
