When God created the earth, he created man to have dominion over every earthly thing. But when Adam and Eve sinned, they gave up their authority to the devil. However, that was not the end of the story – Jesus won back the authority when He died and rose again. He reestablished the victory for the children of God – you and me.

God has given you the authority over the devil here on earth so that you may live in victory, boldness, and blessing. The promises that He has made in His Word are for you, and they are for today. Romans 10:17 says, So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Dig into scripture so that you may know the great plans, promises, and blessings that God has in store for you.

The devil will try to tell you that you do not have authority, that you are powerless, or that God does not care. But the Bible tells us that the devil is like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. His purpose is to separate you from God and the blessings in store for you. So, stand firm and resist the lies of the devil. As you read and meditate on God’s Word, begin to speak His promises over your life.

Like Joseph, you can trust in God’s promises and plans through every difficult situation. Joseph faced betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and prison before he saw the fulfillment of God’s promises to Him. Grow in your faith by filling your heart and mind with the Word of God.
