Get Wisdom
Duane Vander Klok
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
When life seems difficult, it’s especially important to remember what the Bible teaches about heaven and the kingdom of God. Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is both present and future. He said, “The kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21), indicating that God’s rule and blessing are available to us now through faith. But there is also a future fulfillment when Jesus will establish His kingdom on earth.
The Apostle Paul experienced heaven and described it as being “far better” than anything we can imagine (Philippians 1:23). There is a glorious hope and future ahead for those who are followers of Jesus. However, here on earth, our journey is sometimes challenging.
Jesus told us that the kingdom of God suffers attacks from the enemy (Matthew 11:12). These attacks can come in many forms, including the struggles we face in our families, relationships, and personal lives. It’s important to recognize these attacks and actively resist the devil’s schemes. Wisdom plays a pivotal role in this.
Solomon, known for his wisdom, understood its importance. He asked God for wisdom, and it brought him success and favor (1 Kings 3:9-14). In the same way, seeking wisdom from God’s Word helps us make right decisions and build our lives on a solid foundation.
In a world full of distractions and the opinions of man, seeking wisdom is more important than ever. However, acquiring wisdom without also gaining understanding and applying it is not an effective strategy for living a victorious Christian life.
As you align yourself with God’s wisdom and seek the ability to understand it, you will be equipped to live effectively, honoring God in all you do, while also being prepared for heaven.
