1 Peter 1:23 (NIV)

"For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."

Whenever someone accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior, their address in eternity changed: they have a life ahead in heaven with God.

It is like God has caused them to be born all over again. When this scripture uses the word, "seed," it literally means parent. While a physical birth is made possible through parents who are mortal, a spiritual birth is only made possible through a parent who is immortal, that is, God.

Just as God is alive and will live forever, those who are born again will live forever with Him!

1 John 5:13 (NKJV) says, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” This means that you don’t have to wonder if you’re right with God or not – you can know for sure that you are saved!
